CMMA Cultural Trip To Chicago!

Earlier this week, approximately 20 students and three Communication and Media Arts faculty went on a cultural field trip to learn about Chicago architecture!

Of course,  we picked the worst day to go on the tour.  The seating on the boat exposed us to the outside elements including low temperatures, a strong easterly wind mixed with rain and brief snow.

Regardless of the weather, we all enjoyed the tour and the speaker who provided a humorous in-depth description of the history and the artistic architectural design of the buildings along the river.

In the past, I had been on this type of tour two different times.  This one was the best due to the outstanding information that was presented and the many new buildings that we saw along the route.

We learned a great deal about the different design features of the buildings including Classical, Modern  and Post Modern.  Except for the weather, the tour was educational and worthwhile for all who attended.  I’m looking forward to future cultural experiences to share with my colleagues and our students.  A great time was had by all!
